Top 10 Restaurants in Buckhead
Buckhead has become a rapidly growing hot spot on the culinary scene in Atlanta. Since moving and working in Buckhead, I have been pleasantly surprised at how many incredible restaurants are packed into such a small area! It feels like every day I’m still discovering something new.
A few months back we did a write up on the Top 100 Chefs in the Atlanta area, keep your eyes open for some recognizable names on this list, almost all restaurants in Buckhead listed here is run by a Chef on that list! What talent!
This is a great spot for intimate dining in a former Atlanta home with seating inside and out. This Italian restaurant features an extensive wine list and a small selection of Italian beers and other cocktails. Tucked between a bustling shopping center and Whole Foods, it is an exciting, yet peaceful find. Here you will be delighted with the beautiful food presentation, an interior that is a modern take on the traditional feel of the house, filling portion and to top the whole experience off – great service. This is the perfect place for dinner for two or to celebrate an event with a larger group.
One of several restaurants that make up the courtyard of Buckhead Plaza & St Regis Hotel, come in for a sophisticated, contemporary Japanese experience. Chef Fuyuhiko Ito’s menu is the perfect showcase of the freshest fish from the best markets prepared with his unique style where tradition meets contemporary. The interior of this restaurant is more like an upscale lounge and a perfect reflection of the food. The interior is designed by Todd Murphy, to reflect the elegant style, with simple organic, earthy elements.
This restaurant is an unforgettable experience with its modern South African homey interior and fare. Chef Philippe Haddad uses his Belgian background and European techniques to create signature entrees which explore the South African-style braai cuisine through steaks, seafood, and vegetables. For drinks, you will discover a global wine menu and classic cocktails. The entire experience is enjoyed in a dining room with big open areas windows that allow lots of natural light, which is welcoming and somehow familiar.
Newly launched this year, you will discover this restaurant very close to Lenox Mall in Three Alliance Center. Chef Ian Winslade works his magic in the kitchen creating inventive West Coast inspired American cuisine. The ambiance of this restaurant is fun and new, with large open spaces which includes a private chef’s counter and a covered patio (bonus for the various seasons fire pits and cooling fans) overlooking bustling Lenox Road. The decor also includes a living moss wall, some decorative ficus trees and other vegetation on the patio to keep with the upscale West Coast feel.
Enjoy food and drink at this modern gastropub with unique takes on vintage fare. Chef Linton Hopkin is an Atlanta native that cooks seasonally with the goal to use the best ingredients in the best ways. To celebrate Holeman and Finch’s 10 year anniversary, they are planning a series of exciting dinner events to take place every month through April. These events, feature a one-night dinner with visiting Chefs from across the country. Each night of this event will feature the Chefs collaboration with each showing off their specialties with local ingredients, in the true style of Holeman and Finch.
Only open for dinner, Chef Gerry Klaskala prepares seasonal Modern American style cuisine which changes nightly. Expect an elegant, contemporary setting with bonus secret wine cellar table. The idea behind what runs this restaurant is that one size does not fit all and that memorable experiences happen every day. So stop in any day of the week for a seat at the bar to sip on an expertly crafted cocktail or bring in some friends to unwind in their cozy dining room.

The flagship restaurant of Justin Anthony’s Hospitality Group, is located just off of Roswell Road, the South African inspired restaurant is deeply rooted in family tradition, showcasing for guests the lifestyle, decor and cuisine traditionally found in South Africa. Adding to the experience are the golden rhino heads decorating the walls and the live guitarist on weekends.
Atlas is an upscale restaurant located within the St Regis Hotel, serving artfully plated American food created from only local and seasonal ingredients. The menu is changed daily and created by Chef Christopher Grossman. While dining you can take in an impressive collection of 20th-century art on loan from the largest private art collection in the world. For art lovers out there, keep an eye open for a Picasso, Monet, Chagall, Foujita, or Soutine. It is one of the best places to check out.
Chefs Chris Hall, Todd Mussman, and Ryan Turner have come together to create a cool hangout for New American fare and cocktails, that is a well-known brunch spot. The decor runs toward handcrafted and cozy. The decor is definitely on the interesting side with random movie paraphernalia from the Big Lebowski and large paintings of pigs. It’s a little hidden, tucked into an office park just off of Northside Parkway. If you are looking for a neighborhood spot with a good vibe and great food with a wide drink selection this is the place for you.
Located just off of Peachtree St near Piedmont Hospital. Chef Matt Marcus is an Atlanta native who uses local ingredients to create a simple style of Southern food that allows the ingredients to shine. This Chef is an industry pioneer in the farm-to-table movement. This passion for cooking in the moment has made Watershed a neighborhood staple. Inside customers will find a modern, airy space with a centerpiece bar with intimate banquettes and patio.
