Top 10 Food Vendors in Ponce City Market
I have lived in Georgia for the vast majority of my life, but I lived in Orlando from August 2014 – July 2017. As soon as I moved back, everyone kept telling me about Ponce City Market. When I would say that I hadn’t been there yet, the reaction was always the same. “You have to go! It’s amazing!” I went for the first time a few weeks after moving back, and it really was and is amazing. The old Sears & Roebuck building is absolutely stunning. The selection of stores is awesome, and it’s always fun to go on the weekends with your friends or significant other. One of the best parts of Ponce City Market is the wide variety of food options. You can pretty much eat anything you want, no matter what kind of cuisine you’re looking for! Before you head out, check out this list of the top food vendors in Ponce City Market!
If you’re looking for a fun night that includes great food and drinks and live entertainment, then you are in luck! At City Winery, the aim is to be a space “where folks can not only make wine, but also meet friends new and old while indulging their passion for quality food, music, art and life.” Executive Chef Nicholas Anderson uses creative ways to incorporate wine into menu items. For example, he makes Pinot Pimento Cheese from Ponce Pinot Noir grapes. Whether you’re stopping in to tour the winery, eat a meal, see some live entertainment, or all of the above, City Winery is a must!
Everyone loves popsicles, and with summer just around the corner, King of Pops is the place to go! This kiosk offers food such as salads and sandwiches as well as their famous popsicles. These aren’t your standard popsicles; they have some really unique flavors like Blackberry Ginger Lemon and Thai Iced Tea. Even better are the signature “poptails,” alcoholic beverages made from the popsicles! Those under 21 can also partake in the non-alcoholic poptail offerings. Be sure to take a break from shopping and enjoy a pop!
If you’re looking for seafood, W.H. Stiles Fish Camp, or Dubs, is the place to go! Chef and owner Anne Quatrano named the restaurant after her great-great-great-great grandfather. This modern fish shack serves freshly caught Southern seafood; here, you can enjoy classic seafood dishes like a lobster roll, a shrimp po’ boy, or a crab cake. Pair an entree with any of the Southern side dishes to have a great meal. In addition, W.H. Stiles has an impressive raw bar serving oysters, clams, and crudo. There is a gift shop as well, so be sure to bring home a souvenir to remember your time at W.H. Stiles.
If you have ever been to Holeman + Finch, you know that only 24 burgers are made per day, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. However, at H & F Burger, you can enjoy this highly sought-after menu item all the time! The menu always features a burger of the month (The PB+J Burger) as well as several other burger options. Hot dogs are also offered. If you’re looking for something sweet, then you’re in luck! The menu also features a variety of shakes, sundaes, floats, and pies. A shake of the month is also always featured. Come in and enjoy this iconic burger!
If you love tacos, then this is the place for you! Minero means “miner” in Spanish; this is because Mexican silver miners named tacos in the 18th century after “tacos,” the dynamite they used to “excavate the ore in the mines.” The thing that makes Minero’s tacos so special is the tortilla. Here, they grind the corn in house, so you are getting an authentic Mexican corn tortilla! In addition to the 7 different tacos on the menu, you can also enjoy dishes like burritos or chicken wings. Minero also offers an impressive selection of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. Stop in and enjoy this classic Mexican dish!
Founded by James Beard Award-Winning Chef Jonathan Waxman. Brezza Cucina is “Italian cuisine meets Californian chef.” Enjoy a pizza in this light and airy dining room. If you’ve ever been to Ponce City Market, then you’ve probably seen the line at Hop’s Chicken. Everyone wants to eat there! Hop’s Chicken was also founded by Chef Linton Hopkins and is located right next to H & F Burger. At Hop’s, they only serve “100% all-natural Georgia chicken, fried in peanut oil.” Their biscuits are also made from scratch every day. Try the classic chicken biscuit or tenders or nuggets. You can also get family-size orders of fried chicken. Try a side of mac and cheese or fries, and you are sure to enjoy a delicious meal. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The Mercury is “a cocktail focused, classic American eatery,” and it was inspired by the culture of the 1960s. This is definitely evident in the decor; if you’re a Mad Men fan, Don Draper would fit in perfectly here! Multiple delicious options like Lump Crab Louie and a prime rib sandwich are offered on the menu. While the food here is wonderful, you simply must try a cocktail if you’re of age! Classic cocktailes like an Old-Fashioned and a Moscow Mule are available as well as several beer and wine options. Open daily for lunch and dinner with brunch offered on Sundays.
El Super Pan is described as a “lively sandwich bar with bold flavors…including innovative takes on classic Latino bakery food.” These are not your average sandwiches. Chef Hector Santiago, Chef Pedro Matos, and Chef Luis Guevara prepare all of the bread, buns, and pastries in-house. Try one of the amazing options like the Pan de Jamon y Queso or the Smoked Tofu Bun. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, try one of the piggie cookies (a cookie made with bacon fat) or a pastellito. Wine, beer, and spirits are offered as well. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Come try some amazing sandwiches!
