SMOOTH SIPPING; MARVELOUS MALTS… Our flight includes 3 new releases and 3 veteran favorites. Scapa Skiren, aged exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill, will get us started in a lovely manner. Glen Grant 12 (reintroduced in 2017) is a fine whisky aged is a combination of first and refill bourbon casks. You might recall tasting Mackinlay’s Blended Malt back in 2012. Whyte & Mackay’s current version is called Shackleton blended malt which is bottled at 40% rather than 47.3% ABV but is half the cost of the 2012 release. Highland Park 12, as I want to introduce a fuller-flavored expression, is perfect for the fourth whisky of our flight. Of the peated single malts, I love the subtle and well-balanced Caol Ila and Bowmore: it’s Caol Ila’s turn, so let’s go with its 12-year. Then, to contrast with our delicate peated whisky, we will finish with the bold-but-beautiful Longrow from Campbeltown’s great Springbank distillery. As we have a great flight of whisky and nice members who enjoy whisky as much as you, do please join us and bring a friend.

NOTE: We have room for a couple of more for our 2018 Tour of Scotland; October 22-28, 2018. Check it off from the top of your bucket list!
