A Taste of Scotland… Single Malt @ Buckhead

Wednesday, March 22 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Longrow Bottle Scotch

Description

HAVE A DRAM… What an exciting flight of single malt! Auchentoshan 12 (the only full-on triple distillation house in bonnie Scotland) will lead-off. Although I continue to mourn the loss of Auch-10 in 2010, Auch-12 is quite tasty and smooth (reminiscent of Glenmorangie Original). Glencadam is a small bourbon barrel house in Angus. Glen Grant 5 Decades is just cause for the governor to declare March 22 a state holiday. It is a one-off release of casks from 1960s to 2000s to honor Dennis Malcomb, its retiring master distiller. Edradour 10 from owner Signatory’s Un-Chillfiltered collection is an awesome single cask (Oloroso sherry butt) bottled at 46% ABV and NCF/NCA. Longrow… is another good reason for celebration. I really like the stuff! Big Peat is a NAS blend of 4 coveted Islay single malts… it’s a “Blended Malt”, meaning ‘the single malt from two or more distilleries’. It is not Blended Scotch… It doesn’t have any grain whisky. It used to be called “vatted malt” or “pure malt”, but SWA stuck us with the term “Blended Malt”, so that’s that. This flight is one that you will enjoy… so do attend and bring a friend.
