It is finally October, and even though, it doesn’t quite feel like it yet. It has started to cool down. So we are approaching one of the prettiest times of the year. Where the leaves will change color and start to fall down. So in celebration for this wonderful time of the year. Let’s have some fun by checking out these fall events for October. Tuesday, October 2

Exclusive Pop Up Event! | Big Green Egg | 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

6-Course Ramey Wine Dinner Fundraiser for JDRF | Murphy’s Restaurant | 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Murphy’s and Ramey have paired together to create a delicious six course wine dinner. Included in ticket price is a donation to JDRF an organization dedicated to creating a world without type 1 diabetes.

Columbus Day Sausage-Making: From Around the World | Farmview Market | 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Farmview Butcher Glen Wellman and his team will lead you ‘around the world’ as you create sausage blends with the savory and delicious spices while learning and using Farmview’s step-by-step process of making sausage blends, working with different types of casings, cooking methods and more. In honor of Columbus Day, Glen will focus on chorizo and other flavorful sausages, offering guidance on perfectly seasoned sausages to remind you of places near and far. You will take home 2 lbs. of sausage after practicing the techniques of sausage-making in an intimate setting.

Food Truck Fridays& Lunch on Broad | Woodruff Park | 11:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Back by popular demand for a limited run, Food Truck Fridays & Lunch on Broad invites the community to step outside and enjoy lunch in Downtown’s bustling core on Fridays in October from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will feature food trucks parked at Woodruff Park’s Peachtree Street perimeter, in addition to the daily brick and mortar offerings at Broad Street’s beloved restaurants. Enjoy cafe seating in the park, on the Broad Street Boardwalk, and along Broad Street between Luckie and Walton Streets, as well as a live band performing on the Boardwalk. Don’t miss this limited-run series!

Saturday, October 6

Cured Meats Class | Pine Street Market | 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Come join Rusty & crew for a hands on cured meat workshop as they explain how to make salami, guanciale, pancetta, & various cured hams. Participants grind, season, & stuff their own salamis and dry cure pancetta. This class runs from 10 – 1 and includes a lunch of smoked meats, country sides, and beverages. Classes are held at Pine Street Market. $125/ Person. Refunds are not available for missed classes.

Atlanta Brewery Tours | Southern Beer Tours | 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Join us as we visit three of Atlanta’s best breweries. We start at the largest brewery in the south, SweetWater Brewing Company for a private tour and tasting. Next we will visit Georgia’s oldest craft brewery, Atlanta Brewing Company (formerly known as Red Brick Brewing). Our final stop will be to Monday Night Brewing, a crowd favorite!

Whether you are new to the EGG or just want to brush up on your cooking skills, join Chef Amanda Egidio for EGG 101 to learn all the tips and tricks to Grilling, Roasting, Smoking, and Baking with the Big Green Egg. This is a group class based on technique with lots of time for questions, interaction … and time to make and enjoy some delicious food. Menu includes: Ancho coffee-rubbed rib-eye; Grilled romaine with applewood-smoked bacon, blue cheese and crispy fried onions; Cedar-planked Thai chili salmon; Grilled donuts with brandied peaches

Der Biergaren Oktoberfest | Der Biergaren | 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Come celebrate the greatest Oktoberfest party in Atlanta…. enjoy ‘Munich on Marietta’ in the heart of downtown. Grab a stein and indulge in over 18 different German draft beers, bratwursts as far as the eye can see and live music all day! Join us for our annual Oktoberfest 5K Run, through Downtown Atlanta, prior to the festivities. All participants will receive a t-shirt, post race refreshments and certificate! Race starts at 9am. Don your best dirndl or lederhosen and dance the day (and night) away while celebrating German culture at Atlanta’s only authentic German beer garden.

Duluth Beer & Wine Festival | Duluth Town | 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Join the City of Duluth and the Atlanta Sport & Social Club for a Beer and Wine Festival on Duluth Town Green. Join us on Saturday, October 6th from 12:00pm-5:00pm to sample 75+ craft beers and 25+ wines. The day will feature live local music, beer and wine samples, a variety of local food trucks, an adult game zone, plus community vendors and artists.

Sunday, October 7

Brer Rabbit Blues & BBQ | The Wren’s Nest | 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

This BBQ will help fund educational and literary programs for youth and adult audiences in the historic West End community. The Wren’s Nest – former home of Joel Chandler Harris, author of the Brer Rabbit and Uncle Remus stories – is the oldest house museum in the state. For over a century, the Wren’s Nest has served the community by keeping the art of storytelling alive. Today, The Wren’s Nest is a cultural center that celebrates the timeless legacy of the Brer Rabbit tales and promotes the art of storytelling in all of its contemporary forms. Guests will enjoy DAS BBQ and Monday Night Brewing, local sponsors of the barbecue, and can expect live music as they picnic in the 2.5-acre yard
